Which links are compensated

Any link that sends you to a retailer or brand store to buy a product may be compensated. These appear as orange buttons naming the retailer or the saving, and as product name links. Links to manufacturer specification pages, published research, and other pages on this site are never compensated.

What compensation affects

It affects which brands we have applied to work with. It does not affect rankings, scores, or what we write. Products are scored on The H2 Index before any program application, several products we recommend pay us nothing, and no brand sees a review before it publishes.

We also do not accept payment for reviews, sponsored placements, or guaranteed positive coverage, and we do not remove criticism at a brand’s request. If a manufacturer disputes a specification, we verify it and correct the page if they are right.
