Privacy Policy

Short version: no account, no newsletter, no comment box. Analytics counts your visit, affiliate links tell a retailer we sent you, and that is the whole of it.

By Daryl StubbsUpdated

This policy covers besthydrogenwatermachines.com. It describes what actually happens on this site rather than every practice the law permits. If something here stops being true, this page changes on the same day.

What we collect directly

Nothing. There is no account system, no newsletter signup, no comment form and no contact form on this site. The contact page publishes an email address, so if you write to us we hold your email and whatever you put in the message, for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of any correction we made as a result. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your address to anyone.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which pages people arrive on and leave from. It records the page URL, the site that referred you, and coarse information about your device, browser and country. We use it to work out which pages are useful. We do not use it to identify you, and we have no way to connect a visit to a name or an email address.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning visit. Google acts as our data processor and also processes the data under its own terms, which are on the Google privacy policy. Some of that processing happens in the United States.

If you are visiting from the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, analytics and advertising storage is switched off by default before you do anything. Your visit is counted without cookies being set and without data being used for advertising. That is why you are not seeing a consent banner: there is nothing for you to consent to, because the storage is already denied.

If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and any content blocker will also stop it. Nothing on this site stops working if you block analytics.

This site earns commission when you buy through some of our links, which is explained in full on the affiliate disclosure page. Those links pass through a redirect on this domain - an address beginning /go/ - before sending you to the retailer.

We record that a click happened and which product it was for. That is how we know which recommendations people find useful. The record is a count, not a person: it is not tied to an account, an email address or a profile.

The retailer is a different matter, and this is the part worth understanding. When you arrive at their site, they typically set a cookie in your browser identifying us as the referrer, so that a purchase can be attributed to this site. That cookie is set by them under their privacy policy, not ours, it usually lasts between one and ninety days depending on the program, and we have no access to it or to anything else about your visit to them. We are told that a sale happened and what commission is due. We are not told who bought, what else was in the basket, or any payment details.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent or share personal information with anyone.
  • Run advertising networks or retargeting pixels. We do not advertise, and we do not build audiences from your visit.
  • Attempt to identify individual visitors.
  • Ask for health information. This site covers hardware, and we have no reason to know anything about your health - please do not send it to us.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with its own privacy law, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. Write to hello@besthydrogenwatermachines.com and we will confirm what we have and delete it on request. We do not charge for this and we will reply within thirty days.

We do not knowingly collect anything from children under 13, and nothing on this site is directed at them.

Hosting and security

The site is served as static files from a commercial hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a limited period as a normal part of operating and protecting the service. Traffic is encrypted over HTTPS. We do not operate a database of visitors.

Changes to this policy

The date at the top of this page is the last time it changed. If we add anything that collects more than what is described here, this page is updated before that change goes live, not afterwards.
